Yay!
So, I fiiiinally got my butt in gear enough to change this blog’s layout. When I originally began using this wordpress blog, I chose a simple design and intended to eventually turn it into something prettier and more me. (READ: I intended to draw a picture in illustrator of what I wanted the blog to look like to give to Jason with a note on it that read, “make this happen…please!” :-) It was one of those things that was never a necessity compared to all the other things that needed to get done though. So, I put it off and put it off until I could take it no longer. I would cringe every time I came to the blog and saw my pictures hanging off the right hand side of the page. I hated the blue header and meaningless links down the left hand side and I hated (and this one is my fault) the 10 different watermark options that I tried out, none of which seemed to improve the look of the page overall.
Eventually I sat down and put my nose to the grindstone and finally came up with what I thought was a brilliant mock up. I showed it to Jason, feeling very proud of myself for all I’d accomplished and he said very bluntly, “this is no good.” Soooo….then we fought about whether or not it was good and I eventually admitted that it wasn’t good and we worked together to come up with something better. Then Jason worked super hard to get it functional and ready for the interwebs (as he calls it). He slaved away and lived up to every expectation that I could have had and now I love my blog and will come and visit it on the interwebs, I’m sure, multiple times a day (hour). :-) And I must admit…it is about a billion times better than what I’d originally come up with.
So, now I promise, consistent watermarks and more posting!
Isn’t my blog pretty? Sigh.
This new site is fantastic! I love the rotating pictures! Jason did a great job. Good work team!
It looks fabulous Katie! I adore the background on here- I want it for wallpaper! The picture of beef jerky is soooo funny! If you two are ever in New Brunswick, NJ, go to Arthur’s for the 24 oz. Delmonico steak (I’m sure you could make a meal out of the yummy pickles they put out on the table.) ;)
Thanks Danielle! I told Jason about your suggested dinner location and he was more than a little amused that I could eat the pickles. :-) We may just have to check it out sometime…perhaps when his birthday rolls around again. Jason eating and me staring can be our tradition! haha.
I love the new look!!!!!
