A Classic at Home Newborn Session

It’s been quite a long pause since I’ve shared any full newborn sessions, or family sessions … or any sort of session at all for that matter. But since I’ve had a moment to breath after the rush of the fall shoots and the holidays in general, I’m going to try to gather together some sessions into proper blog posts. What a novel idea! I selected at random, because I can’t possibly choose a favorite. I landed on this sweet Philadelphia newborn session to start and I’m not sad about it.

I photographed this adorable, brand new little girl at home on a warm summer day. Obviously it’s winter now, so I can only imagine that at this point she’s crawling around and getting into all sort of mischief. Or maybe she’s not and she’s at that most perfect of baby ages, where they can’t yet move, but are delightfully interactive. Regardless, on this day, she was just the most laid back, cuddliest of babies. She smiled, and gazed serenely at the camera, and was generally all of the things that every new baby should be. I loved her.

Revisiting a session that I haven’t looked at since I delivered the gallery is always a treat. I love discovering the sweet little moments that tug at my heart strings. The way she looks at the camera with her big bright eyes. Those leg rolls. How she snuggled in on her mom’s chest. Can’t you just feel it? I hope the families I photograph feel the same way when they look back through their galleries.
