I love the feel of this family session, just a relaxed morning hanging out at home with new baby Brea. Big sister Thea was so proud of her new little sister and kept us all entertained the entire morning. I loved watching Thea push her doll in a swing and figure out a puzzle, capturing sleepy (and sometimes not so sleepy) little newborn Brea and all of their family’s laughing and cuddling. Such a pleasure.

I love photographing babies, which is most definitely what I do the most of, but I have to say that there is something really, really fun about photographing older kids. That’s especially true when they are as well-mannered as the kids in this family. And they all got along so well too! I could photograph a family like this every day of the week.

This session was so much fun for me to shoot. Cutter is such a happy, smiley baby and I think he rather enjoyed exploring all this new long grass that he hadn’t experienced before. We shot this session at Saunders Woods, which is an extra special spot for this family since Cutter’s parents used to live right there on the grounds. It makes me so happy when I get to incorporate a location with special meaning aaaand get the bonus of shooting somewhere where I’ve never been before. Win, win. I had a hard time narrowing this session down, but these are just a few of my favorites.

I’m a little partial to the family picture with the doggies but it’s hard to pick a favorite out of this wonderful series! That last picture kills me! Ha!
