Snuggles, piggie tails & office dance parties | Bethlehem Documentary Family Photographer

About a year ago, I was spending the night at the Tripaldi’s house and I got the extreme privilege of witnessing Finley’s entire, lengthy, bed time routine. This included hide and seek, storytime (i.e., Lauri reading stories while Finley ran around her in circles), horsie rides, both given and received by Miss Fin, and finished with singing many…many songs. As much as I teased Lauri about the whacky routine, it was really charming and it was all filled with so much love. I knew right then that I needed to come back and photograph the whole thing, along with some of the other Tripaldi family goodness. This post is what came of that visit and I am just in love with these images.

As a photographer, I think an awful lot about finding my passion in photography. I absolutely love what I do and I literally can’t think of another job that I would rather have. That’s a pretty amazing thing to be able to say. So it’s always a matter of refining what I do, never changing it. When I took a step away from weddings and towards families, I felt like I got closer and now I feel like I have fallen head over heels in love with photography all over again. This shoot just makes me so very happy. Photographing families doing all the little sweet and funny and crazy things that families do in their own homes makes me excited about being a photographer again.

So, that brings me to some news that I am very, very, VERY excited to announce, the introduction of the Katie McMenamin Photography Storybook Session! These sessions are filled with real family moments … real cuddles, smiles and office dance parties. ;-) For this year, when you book a Storybook Session, you receive the digital files and an album of the best images from your session. How exciting is that?! If you want more information or pricing or would like to book a session, contact me at katie[at]kmcmenamin.com. Let’s talk about what special moments I can capture for your family. :-)

Cute kiddos in a wagon | Wayne Family Photographer

I love this series. Doesn’t it look like she must have told him a great joke?! Turned that frown right upside down! :-)

It is so clear that he just loves her and the feeling is most definitely mutual.

Matching lip biting. :-)

I first got to meet this family a couple of years ago before little sister was even born. They are all so sweet together and the kids are super well mannered. It was an absolute pleasure spending the morning with them. And their outfits, oh my…can they be any cuter? Love!

Mr. Charming | Lansdale Family Photographer

I don’t usually make photos this big on here but…oh that face!

This little guy was all charm the entire session. I shouldn’t have been surprised at all though because even as a newborn he was charming. I also found it quite funny that we somehow wound up with the warmest day in December to do our shoot on a Christmas tree farm. What luck! It worked out fine though. I really think you can’t go wrong with a family this gorgeous. :-)

…and in case you missed it, my very favorite from this session. Seriously, can a one year old get any cooler?

Sisters | Schwenksville Newborn Photographer

After the maternity session with this family, I could not wait to head back to their farm to meet their newest addition. Sara Grace wins me over every time I have the chance to have her in front of my camera. She’s such a little spit fire. This time she requested to sit on my lap while I photographed the baby and later, mom found her clomping around in my boots when we were all busy in the other room (see her not so guilty face below). Love it!

Little sister Jordyn was already showing her own personality. She was an angel through the whole shoot, putting up with her big sister’s sometimes less than gentle hugs and giving me as many smiles as any newborn I’ve photographed. She also might have been one of the soundest sleeping babies that I’ve ever encountered during her portraits, which was perfect! So very different from Sara Grace, who showed her feisty side even as a newborn.

Always such a treat to spend time with this family.
