My Brother is getting married! | Conshohocken Engagement Photographer

In just over a month, I’ll be photographing my brother’s wedding! I’m also IN the wedding, and Florence is the flower girl. Soooo…that’s kind of stressful. I can’t say that I’ve ever photographed a wedding in which I was also a participant, so it should be quite an adventure.

Luckily, he’s marrying the greatest girl ever. Chrissy fits right into our family perfectly and we all love her. We could not be happier for them both and I am super excited to help them celebrate AND to help to capture their special day.

While they were staying with us over the holidays, visiting from Brooklyn, we went out and freezed our behinds off to get a few engagement photos. Note: It was below freezing and the girl is wearing a short sleeved dress and laying on a bed of dried, stabby grass. That is a team player there. :-)

These are a few of my favorites from their shoot. Also, so many more sessions will be appearing on the blog in the coming weeks! I’ve been on a little bit of a Winter hiatus, but I’m making my way back…starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel of this cold, COLD Winter and excited to start sharing some sessions that haven’t made it to the blog yet!

Love in Conshy | Conshohocken Engagement Photography

Although I’ve mostly stepped away from weddings, I still love engagement sessions. The vibe is just so different for family or newborn shoots. It’s fun spending time with a couple when they’re at the start of their lives together and getting to know them.

Maureen and Mike were so sweet when I caught up with them shortly before their intimate Conshohocken wedding a couple of years ago. We explored some of their favorite spots around town, including the front steps of the building where Maureen lived when they met. Isn’t that sweet?! I just love this session. :-)

Happy Throwback Thursday! ;-)

Lauren & Don Engagement Session | Ambler Engagement Photographer

**Truth be told, I am just not good about blogging in a timely manner. That has left lots of sessions unblogged that I truly love and want to share. SO…tonight’s post will start the first in a throw-back Thursday series. This first one doesn’t go back too far, but it is a session from this last Summer that I love, love, LOVE! It was so super hot this day (I can barely even remember what that kind of hot feels like after the Winter we’ve had) and I had the best time traipsing all over Ambler with these two. Also, the shoot ended with gelato, so you kind of can’t not love that.**

I can’t even believe that I’m saying this, but this June…I’m coming out of wedding photography retirement for these two! I think just looking through these photos should give you an idea of how they convinced me to shoot their wedding. They are awesome, so, truth be told, it didn’t take all that much convincing at all. They are sweet, and so much fun and have such great fashion sense! [I have seen mention on instagram of a boutonniere that is on fire like in the Hunger Games and I won’t hold them to it, but it would really mean a lot to me if they could make that happen. ;-)] I also happened to shoot Don’s sister’s wedding and his uncle’s family here, here and here aaaaand Don’s whole family. So it was just a no brainer. I actually totally can’t wait for this wedding and it will be here before we even know it!!

Ashley & Matt

One thing that I really miss about my days shooting weddings, was getting to know the couples by shooting their engagement sessions beforehand. So, when Ashley contacted me to capture some photos of her and Matt before their destination wedding this December, I was thrilled. I especially love that Ashley put so much thought into their session and selected locations that were really meaningful to them as a couple. We started out at their favorite Conshohocken restaurant, Coyote Crossing, which not only has delicious food, but is also beautiful! Then we headed to a local restored barn to capture photos with some of their favorite books, photos of Ashley’s beloved horses and dogs as well as Matt’s beloved jeep. :-) Finally, we headed up to the main street in Conshohocken for a bit. Oh, and did I mention the three awesome outfits? Yeah, if this engagement session is any indication of how the wedding will be, I am very sorry that I wont’ be there to photograph it!

Here are some of my favorites from the afternoon. Enjoy!

My name is Katie! I love color and pretty light and happy faces and sessions that include all of those things. Photographing families like yours, capturing the essence of what makes you unique, is my passion. I want to get to know you and to tell a story that is authentically yours.
