Spring! | Ambler Family Photographer

I first photographed these boys a couple of years ago on a morning that was VERY cold. So it was very nice to get a chance to get together on a much warmer day last Spring at Prophecy Creek Park in Ambler. (I was going to say that I was sharing this session to celebrate the beautiful Spring weather that we’ve had, but then I remembered that it was sleeting just two days ago and I didn’t want to tempt fate.) This one of my favorite locations to shoot. It’s beautiful and serene and rustic at the same time and it was a perfect spot to photograph these very energetic boys. There was running and jumping and hugging and kissing; basically a perfect session. :-) I can’t believe I didn’t share it sooner!

Boys | Philadelphia Newborn Lifestyle Photos

Is this not the BEST mischevious little face you’ve ever seen!? What a stinker!

I love mom and dad’s face here. :-)

I have to admit, when I was on my way to this session I was a little nervous. A newborn and a one year old can be a very challenging combination. At their very best, one year olds are unpredictable. What starts as a nice pat on the head can quickly turn into a little finger shoved into an eyeball. My poor dogs can vouch for that. :-) But of course, as you can see, it turns out that I had nothing to worry about. Big brother was AWESOME and little brother was as chill as can be! I do love the few moments of mom and dad standing at the ready to intervene should things get violent though. Such a perfect little snapshot of life with a one year old and a newborn.

More for #TBT tomorrow!

Big Laughs | Old City Family Photographer

This shoot from last fall, for a fellow photographer’s family, was SO. MUCH. FUN! As you can see, they even brought along some crazy sweaters AND were totally into posing for cheesy family photos. I laughed the whole time and it didn’t feel like work for a second. Sometimes big kids are totally the best subjects.

My name is Katie! I love color and pretty light and happy faces and sessions that include all of those things. Photographing families like yours, capturing the essence of what makes you unique, is my passion. I want to get to know you and to tell a story that is authentically yours.
