Baby Harper

Oy! It is a new year and oh man…I am just such a bad blogger! Even though this post is WAY overdue (like last April overdue), I just had to share it anyway. Enjoy!

When Kaitlin contacted me to let me know that she was expecting and wanted me to take photos of their baby when he or she arrived, I was extremely excited. Of course in general I just love newborn sessions, but I also happen to have been friends with Kaitlin way back in our elementary school/middle school days. We’d lost touch in high school, and what a happy time to reconnect.

It was my pleasure to meet little Harper and capture a little bit of her first few days at home with mom and dad. We even got to venture out into Manayunk for a bit, which was a treat. So this is somewhat of a long post, you’ll have to forgive me. :-)

We even got a few shots with the pups, Zoe and Molly. They were so well behaved for photos and also excellent protectors of little Harper. They would make sure to come and check things out any time she cried during the session. So sweet.

Thanks Kaitlin and Pete for trusting me with Harper’s first big photo session! :-)

D Family

From here on out for the rest of the year, my posts are going to be all out of order. While I’ve been on and off neglecting my blog throughout the year, many sessions have gone unblogged, and I’m going to do my best to post, post, post until everything is up here!

First is the D Family. I just loved this session for so many reasons, the most important being:
#1. It was so much fun to come and photograph their family just hanging out. It was very relaxed and even included a birthday cake at the end for dad!
#2. I’m a sucker for people who love their dogs as much as I love mine and they certainly loved their dogs. It warmed my heart. :-)
#3. Love just oozed from this family. The kids were so sweet to each other and it made my job easy. It was such a pleasure to capture.
#4. Just as we were finishing up shooting, the skies opened up and we had one of those torrential downpours that seemed so common this Summer. You’ve gotta love timing like that!

Here are a few of my favorite photos from the afternoon I spent with them.

Features and Footballs

So today was a pretty good day. I spent my morning hanging out with the adorable little guy below and I came home this afternoon to see my feature on the Photo Betties website! The ladies over at Photo Bettie do a wonderful job keeping this Philadelphia lady photographer community connected and it is such a thrill and honor to be featured! Definitely go check it out!!! :-)

(And seriously, is this not the most adorable football that you’ve ever seen?)

M Family

I am going to keep this post short and sweet since I have to run out but want to make sure that I get this post up tonight! I cannot believe that I’ve neglected my blog since September and tomorrow it is going to be December! Well, to make sure that I don’t go another month without blogging, I’m kicking of with the adorable M family. Miss Sofia was decidedly not in the mood for a photo session the morning of their shoot, but we made the best of it and I don’t think you can really go wrong when your subject is this cute. These are just a few of my favorites and I’ll be sharing many more adorable shoots in the next few weeks.

My name is Katie! I love color and pretty light and happy faces and sessions that include all of those things. Photographing families like yours, capturing the essence of what makes you unique, is my passion. I want to get to know you and to tell a story that is authentically yours.
