Ashley & Matt

One thing that I really miss about my days shooting weddings, was getting to know the couples by shooting their engagement sessions beforehand. So, when Ashley contacted me to capture some photos of her and Matt before their destination wedding this December, I was thrilled. I especially love that Ashley put so much thought into their session and selected locations that were really meaningful to them as a couple. We started out at their favorite Conshohocken restaurant, Coyote Crossing, which not only has delicious food, but is also beautiful! Then we headed to a local restored barn to capture photos with some of their favorite books, photos of Ashley’s beloved horses and dogs as well as Matt’s beloved jeep. :-) Finally, we headed up to the main street in Conshohocken for a bit. Oh, and did I mention the three awesome outfits? Yeah, if this engagement session is any indication of how the wedding will be, I am very sorry that I wont’ be there to photograph it!

Here are some of my favorites from the afternoon. Enjoy!

Fin McGin

Almost two weeks ago, this baby became a one year old! It sort of seems like it was an overnight transformation. Like a week ago she only cared about sleeping and eating and now she’s interested in everything and crawling up a storm. So of course, in celebration of this big occasion, I took some family photos of Lauri, Mike, Fin and Derby too. I love them all so much and it was really an honor to capture their family, just as they are. This is the first of two posts. We decided to start with them all hanging out in bed for the first part. The second part involves Fin’s first birthday party and some quality beach time (including a most unsuccessful attempt at seagull feeding…oh boy, stay tuned for that!).

Here are my favorites from part one!

Finley’s first step!!!! AH!

Love, love, love this one! Has to be my favorite.

Farm Maternity Session

1. Stunning Mom-to-be
2. Beautiful, Rustic Farm
3. Gorgeous day

It doesn’t get any better than this in my book. :-)

I love that we got to include Michelle’s pup in some of these. I looooooove that the farm had those hay bales (what can I say, it’s the little things)! And I love, love, love that since this shoot I’ve gotten the chance to meet little Sara Grace. Some shots of her soon.

My Kind of Family

A family with dogs, chickens, goats and a donkey. I don’t think it should require any further explanation why I loved this session.

This series makes me smile. Little guy was completely obsessed with his big brother.

And I still just love this photo from my first session with this family. It makes me smile. :-)

My name is Katie! I love color and pretty light and happy faces and sessions that include all of those things. Photographing families like yours, capturing the essence of what makes you unique, is my passion. I want to get to know you and to tell a story that is authentically yours.
