As I’m sure you can tell just by looking at this blog, I am changing things up around here. I am so excited to finally unveil the new face of Katie McMenamin Photography. You may notice that not only are there some big aesthetic changes here and on my main site, www.kmcmenamin.com, but there is also no wedding gallery. While I’ve loved my time shooting weddings and getting to know so many wonderful couples, I’ve come to realize that my true passion is in baby, children and family photography. So, starting this year, I will no longer be taking wedding bookings in order to clear my schedule for those sessions. If you have a second, please take a look around the new website. I’m really proud of what aaaaaall of these months of work have turned into.*

In other big news, I have finally created a facebook fanpage! So, if you are on facebook, please feel free to “like” my page and spread the word to your family and friends.

Lastly, to celebrate the launch, I am doing a portrait session giveaway! The winner will receive a one hour free session with me and a 16×20 print or equivalent print credit (total value of session fee and print, $280). To enter, you first have to “like” Katie McMenamin Photography on Facebook. Then, spread the word by posting a link or info about my new site on your blog, facebook or twitter. Finally, just leave me a short comment below with the info for where you posted.

I will randomly select the winner from the comments section and announce it here on my blog on March 23rd. Here are the full contest guidelines:

-The winning session can be individual portrait, couple, maternity, baby or family.
-The session must be conducted within 35 miles of zip code 19428 and take place within the 2011 calendar year.
-The winning session cannot be applied to a previously booked session.
-The session is transferable, so if you’re not interested in a session right now, feel free to pass it on to a family member or friend who is.
-After the session, the winner will be presented with a portrait session slideshow from which to select their free print or prints. Any prints or digital files above the free credit, will be available for purchase only.

As the weather starts to warm up, I’m looking forward to the 2011 season more than ever before. And just because pictures make everything so much prettier, here are a couple of cuties from last year.

*This is going to get a little Oscar speech-y, but many, many, many thanks to my amazing husband Jason who helped me make my site a reality and who had to put up with me saying, “No, I don’t want it that way.” and “This won’t take you that long, right?” many more times than I think he cared for. He is awesome. :-)
