Heather & Chris Preview

On Saturday I had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of Heather & Chris at Valley Green Inn. Heather’s taste is so classic and all the details of the day were just beautiful. I can’t wait to share more of this day, but for now here’s a little preview. I hope you two are enjoying your time in San Francisco!

Weezie & Rod

WR_Bridge

When I first met with Weezie & Rod to discuss the details of their wedding in November, they mentioned that they’d like to do some engagement photos on the Brooklyn Bridge like they’d seen on my website. When I said that that would only really work at dawn (when there aren’t so many bikers and runners and walkers) they didn’t skip a beat before saying that was totally fine with them. How could I not love them? :-) So a few weeks ago, I headed onto the bridge to meet them at dawn. I as a bit disappointed that we didn’t get a striking sunrise, but I think the foggy photos really have their own charm. Kind of haunting.

The Brooklyn Bridge is perfect location for these two. So classic.

I love this one.

Weezie wore a simple black dress and brought a few colored scarves to trade off. I thought that was so smart. The little splash of color worked perfectly. They look so chic here.

After we finished up on the bridge, we headed into the Financial District (I think???) to find this little gem of a street. At any rate, I dont’ think I could ever find it again there were so many winds and turns to get there. It was absolutely adorable though.

I think this street feels like it could be in Europe for some reason.

Last stop…a park near Weezie & Rod’s apartment. At this point the sun was out in full force and it started to get hot.

Kim & Jaques Engagement Preview

Fireplace_2

On Sunday I spent a couple of hours with Kim and Jaques shooting their engagement session. We had such a good time in spite of the dreary morning weather and the sun even came out for a few. This is just a little preview…lots more to share. :-)

Sam & Brad

Park

When I first talked to Sam about ideas for Sam and Brad’s engagement session, she asked if I thought it would be okay if we did sort of a “date night in the city” kind of thing. Of course I told her that that was a great idea. I love when couples think of locations or themes for their session that really represent who they are as a couple…and Sam and Brad love going out in the city. Pefect! During the shoot, the city location made even more sense though when I got to hear the story of how Brad proposed. Not only was Brad able to surprise Sam with a NYC proposal (I’m always impressed with surprise proposals in general) but he also had both of their parents join them at their dinner reservations in NYC that night to celebrate. I think it takes special skills to pull something like that off.

When we met up at the park, they both just looked so chic. And check out Sam’s shoes. LOVE them! I couldn’t believe that she was able to walk clear across the city in those. My feet hurt for her by the end of the session. :-)

I loved how they just cracked each other up.

Our original plan involved us ending in a restaurant for some shots. Unfortunately, the restaurant where we were originally going to end up was closed on the day of the session. Soooo…instead we did some shots in front of the delicious and very photogenic, Alma de Cuba. Yum, I highly recommend.

These two make me smile too.

After walking clear across the city, Sam’s feet did hurt I bit. :-) So we elected to take a cab back to our starting point. No better way to end a city date night shoot I think.
I don’t know what it is…but I just love something about the feel of this shot.

I also did a couple of shots inside the cab…NOT easy. There was much speeding and stopping short and bumping around in pot holes. I think I may have knocked myself in the face with the camera once or twice and I really wasn’t sure what I got, but I really like this quiet moment.

Sam and Brad…I had so much fun doing this session with you two. I can’t wait for the wedding! :-)
