A long, long time ago, I shot Gina and Jimmy’s wedding. And I think it’s about time I blog it. :-) I don’t know why I’m so bad with the blogging recently, but I’m trying.
Anyway, on with the wedding. When I was editing Gina and Jimmy’s wedding photos, I realized after a bit that my cheeks hurt, because I had been smiling all the way through (literally). Some weddings are just like that, where the bride and groom and their friends and family are just so overwhelmingly happy that it shines through in EVERY photo. I love that.
Here are just some of my favorites.
Gina’s grandmother came in to the packed room where Gina was getting ready to help her put on her necklace and before leaving, she gave her a quick kiss on the back.
Haha! The limo ride to the church was crazy and Gina’s mom didn’t hesitate to get in on the fun. Seriously, love this group.
I think if I had to pick my favorite wedding day moment for photos, it would be when the groom sees the bride for the first time. I am a sucker for these photos…just like this one. How could you not love this look?
Another thing I can’t get enough of…adorable kids.
At the reception, all of the members of the bridal party were allowed to choose their own song and little entrance “skit.” It was hysterical and this is really just a taste.
Unfortunately, Jimmy’s best man, Asa, was deployed to Iraq the day before the wedding. In lieu of actually being there, he asked Jimmy’s dad to read a speech he’d written. It was touching and funny and by the end, I dont’ think there were any dry eyes in the room, including mine.
After the speech, Jimmy got a minute to speak with Asa on the phone and I didn’t want to interfere with their conversation so I stayed at a distance. But I just love this moment.
I’m so glad I was able to be there to capture Gina and Jimmy’s wedding day. :-) And of course thanks go Lauri for being there shooting with me.
I am in love with these photos! The bouquet shot is gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous and I adore the one with the flower girl craning her neck to see what’s going on. The moment where the groom was speaking with his best man over the phone…? It totally made me tear up and I don’t even know the couple! Great photojournalism Katie! Stunning!
OH I just adore these!!! Like Alissa, I teared up too!! You capture the BEST moments. Seriously. Beautiful work. I can’t even pick a favorite! Although I do love the two guys chillaxin’ by the trophies – cracks me up!! Gorgeous job. :-)
OMG. This wedding looks so much fun! I love the photo you captured of the groom talking to his best man. So nice.
I don’t even know these people and the photo of the groom on the phone with his best friends brought tears to my eyes! Good grief!
