In June of last year, we traveled over to Italy to celebrate the wedding of these fabulous people (Way #TBT!). I have to say, as terrified as I was to travel with Florence on such a long flight, 9 hours with a 4 1/2 month old would probably sound pretty terrifying to anyone, it really turned out to be a wonderful trip, a beautiful wedding and honestly, the flight wasn’t half bad! My brother Patrick and his fiance Chrissy also traveled with us to help with Florence (apparently today is sibling day according to facebook, so how appropriate ;-). We stayed in a villa outside of Siena for the wedding, traveled to Florence, Venice and Rome. It was amazing and I would very much like to be back there right now, especially after looking through these photos.
Some thoughts:
-Florence’s first vacation was to Florence…I’m still totally tickled by that.
-Venice is by far my favorite. It was my second visit there and it’s not like anywhere I’ve been before. I highly recommend it.
-It was REALLY HOT in Rome. It felt like walking on the face of the sun…with a baby strapped to my chest. It made walking among the throngs of tourists in the Vatican and Colosseum less than enjoyable.
-It is absolutely true that people there are in love with babies. Florence got oohs and aahs wherever we went and was held by waitresses while we finished our meals on more than one occasion.
-I wanted to eat all of the food.
